Most people think about getting their slow cooker out at this time of the year. But the air fryer is also perfect for creating comforting, warming dishes. Which are especially appealing during the cooler autumn months. So here are some of my favourite Autumn air fryer recipes.
Autumn means the children are going back to school. So quick and simple weeknight dinners are really important. Here you will find lots of easy, family friendly dishes which work perfectly in the air fryer. From air fryer sausage bake to air fryer sweet potato and butternut soup.
Air fryers use hot air instead of oil, so are healthier than deep-fat fryers. And because of their compact size and ability to heat up quickly, they’re typically more energy efficient than a standard oven.
Autumn vegetables
With the air fryer’s ability to roast, crisp and even bake, it can really enhance the flavours of our favourite foods. As we know, Autumn is the season for squash and root vegetables. For example sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips cauliflowers, squash and beetroots to name but a few. The air fryer is just perfect for roasting these delicious veggies. It can give you a crispy exterior but keeping their natural sweetness and tenderness on the inside. The air fryer cooks your vegetables using less oil, which is healthier but still provides that satisfying crispy texture.
Not only can you air fry autumn vegetables for the perfect side dish to a Sunday roast. But you can also air fry then blending them to make a delicious soup for a light lunch or starter. One of my favourite Autumn vegetables is butternut squash and I love to make air fryer butternut soup and this air fryer stuffed butternut.
Autumn air fryer snacks
I like to make delicious air fryer snacks at this time of the year using seasonal vegetables. My favourites are air fryer savoury muffins, air fryer apple cookies, air fryer carrot fritters and air fryer broccoli bites.
Autumn desserts
And why not air fry your pudding as well. We picked berries from the hedgerows near our home, and then made a delicious air fryer blackberry crumble in the air fryer! Not to forget, this is also apple season, so why not use your air fryer to create air fryer apple crisps or air fryer stuffed apple? You could turn the humble apple into a delicious and healthy snack, perfect for school lunch boxes or that mid afternoon snack attack. Using your air fryer for autumn cooking allows you to enjoy the flavours of the season in a quick, healthy, and versatile way.
Whether it’s roasted root vegetables, a warming veggie soup, a blackberry crumble or apple crisps, your air fryer can help bring out the best in all your seasonal cooking. There are so many delicious Autumn air fryer recipes to choose from.
