KIT you will need an air fryer, a silicone mould and kitchen roll
Ingredients for air fryer turkey crown
1.5kg turkey crown (making sure it will fit into your air fryer)
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
A clementine, halved
1 small brown onion, peeled and halved
2 or 3 garlic cloves, peeled
Seasoning
Method
So first set your air fryer to pre-heat on 180c. Then pat dry your turkey crown with some kitchen roll. Place your clementine, onion and garlic inside the cavity of the turkey. If you don’t have enough room inside the crown then just use half of the ingredients. Rub the turkey skin with your vegetable oil and season well with salt and pepper.
Place the joint into your air fryer drawer breast side down and cook for around 30 mins. I prefer to cook my turkey crown in a silicone mould to retaine the cooking juices and to save me having to clean the air fryer afterwards. A disposable tin foil tray would also work well. After 30 minutes or so, turn the turkey crown over and cook for a further 20 to 30 minutes. Or until the juices run clear and you have a golden crispy skin. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature needs to be about 65c.
Remove your turkey crown from the air fryer and leave to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Then carve your turkey and serve with your favourite side dishes.
My favourite sides to serve with my turkey are air fryer pigs in blankets my air fryer cauliflower cheese my air fryer Yorkshire pudding and of course no Christmas dinner would be complete without crispy air fried roast potatoes and plenty of thick gravy.
