Air Fryer Roast Gammon

There is no need to turn on your oven for this air fryer roast gammon recipe. You should easily be able to fit even the largest gammon joint in to most air fryers, but do check that it fits comfortably inside your basket first. You will need to leave some space around the meat to allow the hot air to circulate. The hot air needs to be able to move around the air fryer easily to cook the food properly. Air frying a roast ham is a more convenient and quicker method than the traditional oven and it does not compromise on texture or flavour. This recipe is perfect for a quick ham roast dinner with maximum flavour and minimum effort. The whole family will enjoy this sweet and juicy meat dish any time of the year but especially during the festive period.

Prepare a perfect festive feast in the air-fryer with this easy roast gammon joint. Preparing a succulent roast ham could not be simpler. KIT you will need an air fryer, tin foil, a mixing bowl and a meat thermometer (optional)

Ingredients for air fryer roast gammon

A 900g ham joint

2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons of runny honey

Method

So remember to remove the gammon from the fridge about half an hour or so before you plan to cook it. So start by combining two tablespoons each of Dijon mustard and runny honey in a bowl to make a simple dressing. Then brush the dressing evenly over the ham. Leave some of the honey mustard dressing for later on.

Then wrap the ham joint in tin foil and place in your air fryer basket. Cook on 160c for around thirty minutes then open the drawer and brush again with the rest of the honey mustard dressing.

So cook the ham for a further thirty minutes until the joint is golden brown on the outside and the meat is cooked through. I recommend using a meat thermometer to check that the temperature is 70 to 75 degrees celcius in the centre. Remove the tin foil for the last five minutes of cooking time to crisp up the surface of the gammon.
