Air Fryer S’mores

There have been so many viral videos of air fryer s’mores this year and I just had to share my quick and easy recipe for these delicious treats! Who says you need a campfire or fire pit to make s’mores? With your trusty air-fryer, you can make this classic, gooey dessert in the comfort of your own home. This recipe could not be easier to make, requiring minimal ingredients and only five minutes of your time. Whether you’re craving something sweet after dinner or looking for a fun treat to whip up with the kids.

To make these irresistible s’mores, you only need three simple ingredients. Biscuits, marshmallows, and chocolate. If you can’t find graham crackers don’t worry! I like to use round oat biscuits like Digestives or Hob Nobs, which work just as well and are a great alternative. You can also get creative with your chocolate choices. Whether it’s milk, dark, or even white chocolate, there’s no limit to the flavour combinations you can experiment with. The best part? You don’t need to deal with the mess of a campfire or roasting sticks! In just five minutes, the air fryer creates that perfect crispy biscuit, gooey marshmallow, and melted chocolate combo we all love.

Making s’mores in the air fryer is an incredibly quick and easy dessert that the whole family will enjoy. While it’s not the same as roasting marshmallows over a fire, it’s a safer and more convenient option. Plus, the air fryer gives you that same warm, gooey deliciousness with much less effort. Whether you’re having a cozy night in or entertaining friends, these air fryer s’mores are sure to impress.

SERVES 4 people

KIT you will need an air fryer, a rolling pin, paper liner and silicone mould

Ingredients for Air Fryer S’mores

A 140g bag of standard sized marsh mallows

8 graham crackers or oat biscuits

2 x 30g bars of rippled chocolate, crushed

Method

Begin by placing a paper liner inside your silicone mould. This step is important as it makes for a much easier clean up and helps keep everything neat and contained while your ingredients melt and bubble in the air fryer. Once that’s set up, evenly spread a layer of marshmallows into the lined mould. You want enough to create a thick, gooey layer, but try not to overfill it, as the marshmallows will expand slightly when heated.

Then gently place the prepared mould into the basket of your air fryer. Set the temperature to 170°C and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes. But keep a close eye on the marshmallows. They should puff up and start turning golden brown on top. Watch carefully, as they can go from perfectly toasted to burnt in a matter of seconds!

So while your marshmallows are heating, grab a few chocolate ripple bars. But leave them in their wrappers and use a rolling pin or something similar to gently bash them into smaller chunks. You are not looking for a fine powder – just break them into bite-sized pieces for that delicious chocolatey crunch that will melt slightly on top.

Once the marshmallows are perfectly golden and gooey, open the air fryer drawer and sprinkle the crushed chocolate ripple bar pieces evenly over the top. Close the drawer again and let it cook for another 30 to 60 seconds. Just long enough for the chocolate to soften and begin to melt into the marshmallow layer.

Then carefully remove the silicone mould from the air fryer basket. Serve immediately by scooping out the warm, melted mixture using oat biscuits or your favourite dippers. It is best enjoyed while everything is still hot, soft, and wonderfully gooey. A perfect, indulgent treat!

Tips for Air Fryer S’mores

1. Use the right size ramekins or foil
To make s’mores in the air fryer, you’ll need a small, oven-safe dish or foil to hold the ingredients. A small ramekin or even a piece of tin foil folded into a makeshift pan works perfectly.

2. Choose quality chocolate
For the best s’mores, use high-quality milk or dark chocolate. Break the chocolate bar into pieces that fit well on your graham cracker base, ensuring each bite is rich and indulgent.

3. Don’t overstuff the s’mores
While it can be tempting to pile on the marshmallows, remember that less is more! Use 1 or 2 marshmallows per s’more to ensure that they melt evenly without spilling over the edges.

4. Preheat your air fryer
It’s a good idea to preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for about 3 minutes. This ensures that the s’mores start cooking immediately, getting that perfect melt.

5. Use the right graham crackers
Choose traditional graham crackers, or opt for a chocolate-flavoured version for an extra kick. You’ll need two crackers for each s’more, with enough space between them for the melted chocolate and marshmallow.

6. Assemble carefully
Layer your s’mores with a graham cracker at the bottom, a piece of chocolate, 1 or 2 marshmallows, and top it off with another graham cracker. Press lightly to keep it all together.

7. Air fry for 3-5 minutes
Air fry the s’mores for 3 to 5 minutes at 180°C (350°F). Keep a close eye on them, as marshmallows can burn quickly! Once the marshmallows are golden and gooey, they’re done.

8. Let cool slightly
Allow the s’mores to cool for a minute before enjoying. They’ll be extra gooey and delicious – perfect for a sweet treat!
