This is a twist on a very traditional British dish, fish and chips. These mini air fryer fish & chips are a winner in any situation. I cooked these delicious air fried fish and chips on the Channel 5 TV show AIR FRYERS: ENTERTAINING MADE EASY. Which first aired on 4th April 2024. This quick and easy recipe is a perfect dish for a buffet with friends and family and is sure to be loved by all. If you want the crispiest fish and chips around, than the air fryer is the way to go. And they are a much healthier way to cook than pan frying or deep frying in lots of oil. We’ve all had that Friday night craving for fish and chips, well now you can have them any day of the week and even better it’s a much healthier and more fun version.

COOK 15 minutes
KIT you will need an air fryer, mixing bowls and small wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes.
Ingredients for air fryer fish & chips
100g plain flour
220ml (1/2 pint) of beer
2 fresh salmon filets (not frozen)
3 potatoes
Method
So first cut your three potatoes into chunky chips (or thinner fries if you prefer) and soak them in cold water for about an hour to help remove the starch and prevent them from sticking together in the air fryer.
Next put 100g of plain flour into a mixing bowl and then slowly add half a pint of beer whilst whisking by hand. Once you had added all the beer, keep whisking the mixture until you have a nice thick beer batter.
Then pat you two salmon filets dry using a paper towel and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Next dip each piece of salmon into the beer batter, then dip into the plain flour then put two pieces on to each wooden skewer. This part can be quite messy!
Next drain the potatoes and pat the chips dry using kitchen roll. Then put your chips into your air fryer basket, trying not to overlap them.
Cook the fish and chips on 190c for around 15 minutes but keep moving your skewers throughout and spraying with olive oil half way through.
I served my mini air fryer fish & chips in paper cartons.
