When the kids are craving dessert and you’re short on time, this air fryer peach cobbler is the perfect solution. It can be prepped in five minutes, making it an ideal treat for busy weeknights or spontaneous sweet cravings. The best part? This recipe uses basic ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen. So you won’t need to make a trip to the store. With the convenience of the air fryer, you can whip up this classic dessert in no time. Without the hassle of traditional baking.
This peach cobbler is a delightful combination of sweet, juicy peaches and a tender, crumbly topping. Thanks to the air fryer, it cooks faster than in a conventional oven. Allowing you to enjoy a delicious homemade dessert in under 20 minutes. It’s especially perfect during hot summer days when you don’t want to heat up the kitchen by turning on the oven. The air fryer ensures a golden, crispy topping while keeping the peaches perfectly soft and juicy, creating the ideal balance of textures.
You can use fresh peaches when they’re in season for the best flavour. But tinned peaches work just as well and are available year-round. The convenience of using canned fruit means that you can enjoy this dessert any time, even when fresh peaches aren’t in season. Whether you’re baking for a family gathering, an after-school snack, or a special occasion, this air fryer peach cobbler is guaranteed to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
The sweet baked peaches are blanketed in a soft vanilla sponge, perfect for an easy midweek dessert. You can find this recipe on page 189 of The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook: One Basket Meals.
PREP 10 minutes
COOK 22 minutes
SERVES 4 people
KIT you will need a mixing bowl, oven proof dish and air-fryer
Ingredients for air fryer peach cobbler
80g of plain flour
60g of caster sugar
1½ teaspoons of baking powder
80ml of whole fresh milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
30g of butter, roughly diced
10 to 12 tinned peach halves in juice, drained (you’ll need to use 2 x 400g tins, with a couple of halves left over)
To serve:
Demerara sugar, to sprinkle (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or custard, to serve (optional)
Method
So first mix up the batter, as it needs to rest for a few minutes while you prepare the rest of the cobbler. In a mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, and baking powder, then gradually whisk in the milk and vanilla extract until you have a smooth, lump-free batter. Set it aside while you prepare the peach base.
Next, place the butter in a wide, shallow, ovenproof dish (ideally glass or ceramic) that fits comfortably in your air fryer basket. The wider the dish, the better the topping-to-fruit ratio will be. Add the drained peaches directly into the dish with the butter, and pop it into your air fryer at 200°C for 5 minutes. This step not only melts the butter but also heats the dish and the peaches, helping the batter cook more evenly from underneath.
Once the five minutes are up, remove the dish and give the peaches and butter a quick stir to coat the fruit. Then spoon the batter over the hot peaches in dollops, spreading them out slightly so there are gaps in between. You’re aiming for that classic cobbled appearance. So some peach should peek through the batter. Avoid covering the surface completely, as this helps the texture stay light and golden.
Reduce the air fryer temperature to 160°C and cook for 16 to 17 minutes. Or until the batter has risen and turned golden brown. The topping should be light and cakey, and the peaches soft and bubbling underneath.
When done, sprinkle a little demerara sugar over the top for a sweet crunch, or leave it plain. Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of custard for the ultimate comforting dessert.

Tips for Air Fryer Peach Cobbler
1. Use ripe, juicy peaches
Fresh peaches give the best flavour and texture. If they’re in season, go for ripe but firm ones. Out of season? Tinned or frozen peaches (drained and patted dry) work beautifully too.
2. Don’t skip the corn starch
Tossing your peaches with a little corn starch before baking helps thicken the juices into a rich, syrupy filling so no more watery cobbler!
3. Preheat your air fryer
Just like an oven, preheating your air fryer helps your cobbler bake more evenly. And ensures the topping starts crisping right away.
4. Use an air fryer-safe dish
Make sure your baking dish fits comfortably in your air fryer drawer with room for air to circulate. A small ceramic, metal, or silicone dish is ideal.
5. Don’t overfill the dish
Only fill your dish about two-thirds full to prevent the fruit bubbling over and making a mess. If needed, place a piece of foil underneath to catch drips.
6. Keep an eye on the topping
Check your cobbler towards the end of cooking. If the topping is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with foil and continue baking until the fruit is bubbling and the top is cooked through.
7. Let it rest
Once cooked, let your cobbler sit for 5–10 minutes before serving. This helps the filling set slightly and makes scooping easier.
8. Serve it warm with extras
Peach cobbler is best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or even a dollop of Greek yoghurt.
