Ingredients
5 chicken thighs
4 tablespoons of soya sauce
1 tablespoon of honey
A lime (you need the juice and zest)
1 clove of grated garlic
A thumb sized piece of ginger, grated
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Half a red chilli finely chopped (save the rest for the garnish)
For the garnish:
Handful of coriander
1 tablespoon of chopped nuts
Method
In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken thighs, 4 tablespoons of soya sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey, the lime juice, grated lime zest, 1 clove of grated garlic, the grated ginger, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half a chopped red chilli.
I like to brush the ingredients into the chicken, I find it gives a more even coverage. You can do this all in preparation and leave marinating in the fridge for up to a day. The longer you leave it to marinade, the tastier the chicken thighs will be.
Place the chicken in your air fryer on 180c for 35 minutes. My air fried chicken thighs were quite large so adjust the cooking time to the size of the meat and always check they are cooked throughout before serving.
This recipe showcases how simple ingredients can come together to create a dish that’s both delicious and nutritious. Chicken thighs are an excellent source of protein and, when air fried, they have a lower fat content compared to traditional frying methods. The marinade ingredients not only add incredible flavour but also provide additional health benefits. For instance, ginger and garlic are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, and lime is packed with vitamin C, which is great for boosting the immune system.
Whether you’re new to air frying or a seasoned pro, this recipe is easy to follow and guarantees delicious results every time. The combination of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavours makes these air fryer chicken thighs a crowd-pleaser.
