I adore salmon and for some reason eating it feels like a real indulgence. Probably due to the price tag that a good quality piece carries. But this air fried salmon on rye recipe takes it to a new level. Bringing a simple yet elegant dish that can be enjoyed as a lovely breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Salmon is not only delicious but also highly nutritious. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for heart health and brain function. Additionally, salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein, vitamins B12 and D. And minerals such as selenium and potassium. Incorporating salmon into your diet can help reduce inflammation, improve arterial function, and support overall cardiovascular health
Ingredients
1 slice of Rye bread
1 salmon fillet
Cream cheese
3 quails eggs
1 lemon, sliced
Vegetable oil spray
A sprig of fresh parsley
Salt and pepper
Method
I sliced the bread, sprayed with oil on both sides and popped into the air fryer on 200c for around 3 to 5 minutes. Turn the bread half way through and keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn as not all air fryers cook at the same speed.
After removing the bread from the air fryer, I placed the salmon on a bed of sliced lemon into the air fryer on 180c for 15 minutes. Whilst the salmon is cooking spread the bread with cream cheese. The quails eggs are not cooked in the air fryer, just scrambled on the hob. Serve your air fried salmon with a sprinkle of parsley and seasoned salt and pepper.
To add a bit more zest to your meal, you could serve the salmon with a side of mixed greens or a simple cucumber and dill salad. The freshness of the vegetables will complement the richness of the salmon and the creaminess of the cream cheese, creating a balanced and satisfying dish. If you’re looking for an extra touch of indulgence, try adding a drizzle of honey or a dash of smoked paprika over the top of the salmon before serving. This dish is not only delicious but also packed with omega-3 fatty acids and protein, making it a nutritious option that doesn’t compromise on flavour.
For those looking to boost their intake of essential nutrients, this air fried salmon recipe is an excellent choice. It’s easy to prepare, packed with flavour, and supports a healthy diet. Whether you enjoy it as a standalone dish or pair it with other nutritious options. This air fried salmon is sure to become a regular part of your meal rotation.
