Air fried potatoes

Crispy air fryer potatoes are the most perfect accompaniment to any dish! They are a delicious and healthier alternative to deep fried potatoes. Or ones cooked in a roasting dish in the oven. They come out so crispy on the outside and fluffy inside without any of that excess oil or fat. I just love my air fried potatoes as a snack served with fresh rosemary and sea salt.

Perhaps one of the most versatile ingredients that you can cook with. Is there anything that the common potato can’t do or be paired with? I don’t think so. And I also don’t think I’ve met anyone that doesn’t like potatoes. There is simply so much that you can do with them from jack potatoes to chips to mashed potatoes to pie toppings and so much more.

For this recipe I wanted something simple, low effort, and fast to create. These air fried potatoes are simply divine and once you have tried them, I have no doubt that they will end up on your plate on a regular basis. With only a 10 minute cooking time they couldn’t be easier to whip up.

First I thinly sliced the potatoes and left them to soak in water for about an hour to remove some of the starch which helps stop them sticking together in the air fryer. Then I removed the potato slices from the water and dried them with a tea towel or kitchen towel. I then sprayed my potatoes with a little olive oil and then placed them into my air fryer, trying not to over lap them too much. Cook them on 200c for about 10 minutes, depending on how thick you cut the potatoes. I would keep shaking them in between a few times too. Serve your air fried potatoes and enjoy.

These crispy potatoes are not only great as a standalone snack but also make an excellent side dish. Pair them with your favourite grilled meats, like chicken, steak, or fish, for a balanced and satisfying meal. They also work wonderfully alongside a hearty salad or a veggie-packed stir-fry. And of course they would go wonderfully with eggs. Whether poached, scrambled or fried, so you could consider adding them to you next breakfast.

For a fun and interactive meal, consider setting up a potato bar where everyone can customise their own air fried potatoes. Provide a variety of toppings such as grated cheese, sour cream, chives, crispy bacon, and different sauces. This is a great idea for family dinners or get togethers with friends.
