Essential kit
You will need an air fryer, kitchen roll and two mixing bowls.
Ingredients
1kg of mixed chicken pieces (thighs and drumsticks)
2 Teaspoons of onion granules
150ml of beer or lager
2 Teaspoons of smoked paprika
2 Teaspoons of garlic & herb seasoning
200g of plain flour
Oil spray
Seasoning
Method
I started by patting dry the chicken pieces with some kitchen roll and then set them aside. Then I measured out 100g of the flour in to two separate mixing bowls. I added the beer into one of the bowls and stirred until I had a thick consistency of batter. In the other bowl I added in the spices, seasoned and stirred well. Start by dipping your chicken pieces into the beer batter first, making sure each piece is fully covered, then follow with your seasoned flour. Continue with each piece and once all your chicken is coated, spray each piece with your oil spray.
Next set your air fryer on 190c and placed the chicken pieces into the drawer. Cook your chicken for 20 to 25 minutes, turning them after ten minutes or so to ensure they cook evenly. I served my air fried crispy chicken pieces with a spicy mayo dip, the skin was so crispy and the meat was really juicy.
