I had the pleasure of cooking this recipe with Alexis Conran on the Channel 5 TV show “Air Fryers: An Easy Way to Lose Weight” first aired on 28th February 2024.
Ingredients
2 Apples
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Method
Using a mandolin, slice your apples so that each piece is of equal thickness. Spread them out on to a chopping board and sprinkle with your ground cinnamon. I do mine in batches as you don’t want to over crowd your air fryer.
Place in your air fryer on 140 C for around 15 to 20 minutes, turning throughout the cook. Depending on the size of your apples, you may need to adjust the time you need to cook your apple crisps. Keep a close eye on your crisps and keep turning whilst they cook. Cooking times may vary depending on what type of air fryer you use. When cooked, leave your air fried apple crisps to cool on a drying rack. I hope you enjoy these healthy alternatives to potato crisps! If you don’t have a mandolin then use a sharp knife to cut your apples but be extra careful so you don’t cut yourself.
